First off, thanks for checking out my blog. My name is Samantha Mohun and I am a 23 year old recent college grad. In between doing research, applying for grad schools, and planning my future, I love to write and take pictures.
I have been writing in a journal since (literally) the third grade. Writing has always given me a way to process my feelings, a shoulder to cry on, and a way to remember some of my favorite memories. After taking several writing classes such as creative non-fiction and poetry, I realized that writing is something I need to do to be happy. By the way, my two professors for those classes are some of my favorite people in the whole world. They helped nurture my skills and I’ve learned so much from them. If you ever read this Dr. Kelly Carlisle and Dr. Jenny Browne, thank you doesn’t even cover it.
I am typically a very private person but I’ve finally decided to share some of those stories with you.
Taking pictures is also one of my other favorite hobbies. I’ve definitely gotten that from my dad (we’re basically the same soul born 40ish years apart). I love to shoot film because the process is so rewarding to me. Plus, I believe film pictures just come out better. I also shoot with my digital camera and my iPhone 7. But I love the way pictures are a way to express yourself with no words.
The things I write about and the things I take pictures of will say more about me than this about ever will.
My hope is that you find either a story I wrote or a picture I took that makes you feel something.
